# PayeeProof Terms

Effective September 25, 2026.

PayeeProof provides deterministic consistency assessments of public machine-readable payment identity metadata. A result may be `consistent`, `review_required`, or `conflict`, with individual checks and provenance.

A `consistent` result is not a purchase recommendation, authorization to spend, proof of delivery, proof of merchant honesty, proof of legal identity, KYC, AML clearance, sanctions screening, fraud insurance, a legal opinion, or a guarantee of refundability. The calling agent remains responsible for its own spending, merchant, compliance, and risk policies.

The paid `payeeproof.check_payee` operation costs exactly $0.01 USD per completed authorized invocation on compatible stablecoin rails. Structurally unsupported, unsafe, or insufficient requests are rejected before a PayeeProof payment challenge is issued. A payment challenge or payment attempt is not a completed purchase; settlement and result delivery are separate events. Identical settled retries may use durable recovery to avoid a second charge.

Do not submit target payment credentials, private keys, bearer tokens, cookies, card data, or arbitrary private request bodies.
